Judge FAQs

Want to know more about the judging process, common questions from applicants and how and when we award grants? Answers to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below may help.

How much time do I have to review all the finalists?

You will have until Judging Day on Friday 15 September to log in to the portal to assess our finalists’ applications. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the AMP Foundation.

How many people have judges each application?

Each finalist has been assessed by at least three AMP judges during the first round, with further checks and interviews conducted by the AMP Foundation team.

What if I know one of the finalists?

If you know a candidate well (for example, they are a good friend or family member), in the interests of transparency please email amp_foundation@amp.com.au to declare this. Of course, the world being a small place it is possible that you may know a candidate through a remote connection. We are most concerned about cases where there is a clear conflict of interest (i.e. your relationship potentially impacts your ability to impartially assess a candidate).

How do I find out more about a finalist?

We have asked candidates to provide online links that help tell their story (e.g. Facebook, websites, blogs, Twitter, Instagram etc). These links will provide more information on the candidate. If you have any further questions or concerns about a candidate, please contact the AMP Foundation and they can get in touch with the individual or conduct further research.

Please do not contact your candidates for more information.

Finalists’ referees have been called. Our 2017 grant recipients will also undergo criminal checks.

What if I have questions or need help?

If you feel you require more information or clarification with regards to a finalist’s application, or if something is worrying you, please email the AMP Foundation at amp_foundation@amp.com.au or call Emma Turnbull on (02) 9257 2053 or 0415 574 532.
