Loren O’Keeffe

Melbourne, Victoria

Family advocate, communicator

Every day, over 100 Australians are reported missing and many will remain missing long-term. This directly impacts half a million Australians every year – psychologically, emotionally and financially. Loren understands the pain and unique grief that those left behind experience. After her brother Dan disappeared, she launched what became the biggest social media campaign of its kind in the world. Requests for help from other families prompted Loren to found the Missing Persons Advocacy Network (MPAN). Supported by volunteers, Loren draws on her communications and networking skills to find creative and innovative ways to go beyond a missing person’s vital statistics and tell their story.
