Zoe Knorre

Lockyer Valley, Queensland

Clinical psychologist, local hero

Having dedicated part of her career to supporting people with drug and alcohol-related problems, Zoe understands that breaking the cycle of addiction can have a powerful impact on both families and communities. In 2018, the clinical psychologist and her husband, Jason, opened the doors of Grace Homestead – a nine-bed capacity rehabilitation centre, where mothers who are experiencing substance abuse and mental health issues can recover in the company of their children. Over six months, women receive therapeutic intervention provided by psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists. With the support of 20 volunteers, Grace Homestead provides a stable and supported environment where women can connect with their children, settle into daily routines and heal.
