Few of the 2.5 million academic papers published are read, let alone understood by a mass audience. Armed with a decade of graphic design experience, Tullio took a novel approach to sharing his PhD in climate science. The short animation he created to clearly explain his studies not only won him awards, but also led to a new career. Through his Animate Your Science start-up – born out of the University of Adelaide's ThincLab – Tullio is helping Australian researchers to more effectively communicate their findings through animation. Now attracting international interest, he is hoping to grow and provide local jobs.
