Software engineer, inventor
Adrian felt helpless seeing his dyslexic son fall further behind with his reading. This prompted the software developer to create an app to help people like Forester become more confident readers. Bookbot aims to make reading more engaging and fun for struggling readers and people with dyslexia. It achieves this through sophisticated software that “follows along” as they read out loud, highlighting mispronounced words and audibly stating the correct pronunciation. Since Adrian created the prototype, in collaboration with teaching experts, there has been interest from parents of children with reading disabilities from all over the world. He is using his grant to perfect the app.
