Alex Vuillermin

Burnley, Victoria

Rower, aspiring Paralympian

Alex was born with a rare form of ectodermal dysplasia that affected how her hands and feet were formed. However, this difference never held her back from playing sport. After representing Victoria in able-bodied volleyball, she was scouted by Rowing Australia to take up the sport. Although she has only been competing since 2017, Alex has already represented Australia and is now aiming to join the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic team. She is currently using an adaptive rowing handle that her father made. Alex’s grant will fund a customised prosthetic that will reduce the risk of injury and help her to go for gold.
