Caleb Maru

North Adelaide, South Australia

Student, storyteller, facilitator

Growing up in Alice Springs, Caleb worked with many young people in the community. After moving to Adelaide to study, he created a space – The Aware Project – to highlight and discuss the issues facing young people that they commonly feel they can’t talk about openly. Stories can be submitted by anyone and are published on the website and social media. Caleb will use his AMP Tomorrow Fund grant to promote these often inspiring and deeply personal stories, and raise awareness about the ‘hidden’ concerns and challenges of young Australians. “I’d like to create more conversations and dialogue about the issues brought up by young people so we can eventually look at implementing innovative solutions.”
