Community champion, criminologist
Carly is one of the driving forces behind Deadly Connections – a charity that aims to address the over-representation of First Nations people, families and communities in both the child protection and justice systems. Based in Sydney, it works with the Aboriginal community and other agencies to support people with justice or child protection involvement. Deadly Connections draws on Carly’s academic knowledge and work in the justice and non-profit sectors, plus her own lived experience, to provide culturally responsive support programs and advocate for systemic change. The vision is for First Nations people to not just survive, but thrive.
