David Connolly

Albion, Victoria

Coach, blind football advocate

David was a veteran football player and coach by the time he discovered blind football in 2013. Intrigued by this format of soccer, which is played with a ball that makes a rattling noise, David started developing and promoting the sport. Working with Blind Sports Australia, he developed a national program to encourage more people who are blind and vision impaired to play football. David is now working with Football Victoria and Paralympics Australia, creating a coaching portal and supporting football clubs to provide blind football programs across Australia. His ultimate goal is to create a more inclusive and active community.
