Gracie Anderson

Cooma, New South Wales

Dancer, role model

Sixteen-year-old Gracie has shouldered a lot of responsibilities in her young life. In late 2019, she spent four months supporting her siblings while her mother was hospitalised and her father battled a chronic illness. All the while the young dancer, who has studied tap, jazz and classical ballet, continued to teach at her local studio to help support her tuition. When the COVID pandemic struck, Gracie filled in for a teacher to teach 30 junior dancers online because she “couldn’t bear to think of the little ones missing out”. This grant will enable Gracie to keep pursuing her passion by helping with costs such as tuition, dancewear and travel costs.
