Jeffry Falconer

Busselton, Western Australia

Wildlife champion, rescuer, educator

A retired school principal, Jeffry has devoted many years to protecting local wildlife. He is particularly interested in saving the western ringtail possum, endangered by lost habitat and feral predators. Rescuing and rehabilitating these possums, and educating the community on how to protect them, is time consuming. This grant will help Jeffry to buy cameras and other equipment to help ensure rehabilitated possums are released in areas free of predators such as foxes and cats. “To save this and other threatened species is both rewarding and
disheartening. I live in the knowledge that I could not do more, but I always strive to do better.”
