After two decades as an elite equestrian, the loss of her mother and her mount’s chronic illness put Kate on a new sporting path. Having only started competing in paratriathlons in 2015, she placed fifth at the Rio Paralympics the following year. In 2019, Kate won the World Series in Italy, World Cups in Spain and Devonport and the Oceania Championships. What made this string of victories more incredible is that Kate is a new mum. As the first Australian ITU paratriathlete to return to training after pregnancy, this public speaker is determined to keep inspiring and blazing a trail for female athletes all the way to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
