Future speech pathologist

After high school, Natalia wanted to study speech pathology. But leaving Broken Hill, where her family has lived for four generations, was not an option and she found herself waitressing. One day she was urged to study by correspondence. Speech pathology wasn’t offered remotely, so she studied communications. Despite working for the ABC, in community services and teaching, she never shook off her original ambition. And as a mother of a child with autism, she understands the difficulties in accessing support services in remote areas and is now studying speech pathology at Charles Sturt University: “With this grant, I will be able to make a real difference locally.
