New South Wales
Economic safety advocate

Economic abuse is a common form of domestic violence in which one person controls, sabotages or exploits their partner's economic resources, threatening their autonomy and economic security. A lack of economic safety is a key reason why women stay with, or return to abusive partners. Rebecca founded the Centre for Women's Economic Safety (CWES) to raise awareness of economic abuse while advocating for structural and systems change. She has big plans for the charity, aiming to develop more self-help tools for women in need, offering Mobile Money Clinics to provide more safe spaces for money discussions, promoting Economic Abuse Awareness Day and expanding training in economic abuse. This grant will help Rebecca to create this change.
