Sarah Tracton

Elwood, Victoria

Artist, lighting designer

This artist is building a reputation for using innovative techniques to create bespoke lighting that is functional, beautiful and mood-enhancing. Sarah uses Australian-made porcelain clays for their distinctive translucent qualities to create her handcrafted artisanal pieces. When paired with LEDs, this material delivers iridescent and warm marbleised lighting. The Melbourne artist has also added Japanese-inspired gold leafing to her creative repertoire, to stunning effect. Having undergone two cochlear transplants, Sarah is a passionate advocate for the use of assistive technologies and reducing the stigma of hearing loss. This grant will help grow her small business and share her exquisite one-of-a-kind creations further afield.
