Taylor Watt

Memerambi, Queensland

Footballer, aspiring Matilda

All-round athlete Taylor understood at a young age the sacrifices are often needed for sporting success. At 15, she left her home and Kingaroy high school to take up the opportunity to participate in a soccer excellence program in Brisbane. It’s a team effort, with Taylor’s mum regularly making the six-hour return drive to the capital to take her daughter to training and games. The hard work is paying off, with the 16-year-old playing in the National Premier League as part of the Under 18s Western Pride team and nearing her dream of one day joining the national W-League and, ultimately, the Matildas.
